Gladys was born in the mountain city of Cusco, Peru, and moved with her family to Lima at the age of two when her father found work there. Her mother, searching for support while raising two young children, enrolled Gladys and her sibling in a Christian nursery school in the El Agustino district—part of a sponsorship program supported by Swiss, German, and Peruvian believers.

It was at this early age that Gladys first heard the message of the Gospel. She accepted Jesus into her heart as a child and grew up surrounded by the truth of God’s Word. That nursery later became Johannes Gutenberg School, where she completed her education from kindergarten through high school.

Although Gladys originally planned to become a lawyer and pursue a career in diplomacy, God had a different path for her. She studied English, earned a degree in Education, and returned to teach at her former school. Through her involvement in English Bible studies, Gladys was invited to volunteer as a translator for a U.S. mission team—and that opportunity turned into a calling.

Since then, Gladys has faithfully served as a translator for countless mission teams across Peru—whether on the coast, in the mountains, or deep in the jungle. She considers it a joy to help share the love of Christ in both word and action.

Today, Gladys continues to serve with Eyes of Grace by supporting mission teams and helping lead our child sponsorship program. Her heart for ministry and dedication to God’s call are a blessing to everyone she serves.
